When most people think of what they want to do in the summer, getting their chimney swept isn’t usually what’s on the top of their mind. However, in reality summer is the ideal time to hire a chimney sweep.
Here’s why summer is ideal for hiring a chimney sweep:
1.Avoid the “Autumn rush”
Most people will hire a chimney sweep in the autumn due to the colder temperatures, making bookings hard to get. Therefore getting your chimney swept in the summer allows you to get your chimney swept quickly. This means that you will be fully prepared for the cold months of Autumn and Winter.
2.Unpredictable weather
In the UK, the weather is often unpredictable. One minute it will be sunny and there will be no need to light a fire, but the next minute it’s pouring with rain. Having your chimney swept allows you to be prepared for harsh weather shifts and rainy days when you might feel compelled to light a warm, cosy fire. If you’re worried about not having a clean chimney for when the weather shifts, definitely consider getting a chimney sweep.
3.Fixing problems
Hiring a chimney sweep before the cold months allows you to learn of problems with your chimney before they become serious or expensive. Having your chimney swept in the summer also allows all of your chimney’s problems to get solved before the winter months, when the problems begin to build up.
4.Maintenance is important
It is important to get your chimney swept regularly to spot problems and keep your chimney working for longer. Build-up from the winter months can cause damage to your chimney, so getting your chimney swept and checked during the summer can help prevent further damage during Autumn and Winter.
